Satu lagi terobosan diawal tahun, Rektor meluncurkan media online thetanjungpuratimes sebagaimana dilansir  thetanjungpuratimes.com – Rektor Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat, Prof. Dr. Thamrin Usman, DEA bersama Wakil Ketua DPRD Kalbar Suma Yeni, Wakil Walikota Pontianak Edi Rusdi Kamtono, serta Wakil Rektor Untan, meluncurkan secara resmi Portal Berita www.thetanjungpuratimes.com, pada Jumat (29/1) 2016 sore di Rektorat Untan lantai 3.

Rektor Untan Resmikan Peluncuran thetanjungpuratimes. Peluncuran secara resmi Portal Berita www.thetanjungpuratimes.com ini juga dihadiri oleh sejumlah pejabat TNI-Polri, Pejabat Pemerintah Daerah dan Provinsi Kalbar, Pejabat BUMN dan BUMD yang ada di Kalbar serta Tokoh Masyarakat Kalbar.

Berikut ini Sambutan Prof. Dr. Thamrin Usman, DEA. Rektor Universitas Tanjungpura Pontianak.

Thetanjungpuratimes dengan jaringan media lokal dan nasionalnya diharapkan mampu mengemban peran sebagai pilar demokrasi yang didasari filosofi  Good News is Good News and Responsibility. Paradigma ini memang agak tak lazim, karena media mainstream biasanya menggunakan istilah  bad news is good news. Terlepas daripada itu, kehadiran portal berita ini hendaknya dapat menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi yang bermutu dan up-to-date disegala aspek, tentu sarat dengan muatan pesan yang kritis konstruktif bagi kepentingan pembangunan bangsa.

Thetanjungpuratimes juga menyediakan kanal lintas pakar yang dapat menjadi ruang ekspresi intelektual kalangan akademisi dan pakar yang ingin berkontribusi lewat artikel-artikel yang bermanfaat dan mencerahkan.
