Rektor Untan Resmikan Peluncuran thetanjungpuratimes. Peluncuran secara resmi Portal Berita www.thetanjungpuratimes.com ini juga dihadiri oleh sejumlah pejabat TNI-Polri, Pejabat Pemerintah Daerah dan Provinsi Kalbar, Pejabat BUMN dan BUMD yang ada di Kalbar serta Tokoh Masyarakat Kalbar.

Thetanjungpuratimes dengan jaringan media lokal dan nasionalnya diharapkan mampu mengemban peran sebagai pilar demokrasi yang didasari filosofi Good News is Good News and Responsibility. Paradigma ini memang agak tak lazim, karena media mainstream biasanya menggunakan istilah bad news is good news. Terlepas daripada itu, kehadiran portal berita ini hendaknya dapat menjawab kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi yang bermutu dan up-to-date disegala aspek, tentu sarat dengan muatan pesan yang kritis konstruktif bagi kepentingan pembangunan bangsa.
Thetanjungpuratimes juga menyediakan kanal lintas pakar yang dapat menjadi ruang ekspresi intelektual kalangan akademisi dan pakar yang ingin berkontribusi lewat artikel-artikel yang bermanfaat dan mencerahkan.
