Visi dan Misi Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Program Studi (Prodi) Ilmu Komunikasi didirikan berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia Nomor 722/E.E2/DT/2013 mengenai Penugasan Penyelengaraan Program Studi tanggal 25 Juli 2013 dan Keputusan Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia Nomor 267/KPT/I/2017 tentang Izin Pembukaan Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi Program Sarjana Pada Universitas Tanjungpura di Pontianak.

Visi

Pada tahun 2020 menjadi pusat pendidikan, penelitian, penerapan, dan pengembangan ilmu komunikasi di Kalimantan Barat serta menghasilkan sarjana yang bermoral, kreatif dan kompeten dalam bidang jurnalistik dan hubungan masyarakat yang menguasai teknologi media serta mampu berkompetisi pada tingkat lokal, nasional, regional, hingga internasional.

 Misi

  1. Menyelenggarakan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dalam ranah komunikasi di Kalimantan Barat
  2. Menyediakan sarjana terampil di bidang jurnalistik dan hubungan masyarakat yang menguasai teknologi media serta kompetitif sebagai profesional.
  3. Membina jejaring kerjasama dengan stakeholder baik pada tingkat lokal, nasional, regional, dan internasional.

Tujuan

 Civitas Akademika yang bermoral dan memiliki keterampilan komunikasi secara lisan maupun tulisan, menguasai teknologi media dan memberikan solusi terhadap berbagai isu permasalahan publik di bidang komunikasi sebagai perwujudan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi.

  1. Menghasilkan lulusan sarjana ilmu komunikasi dengan kualifikasi jurnalistik dan hubungan masyarakat yang menguasai  IPTEK dan mampu berkompetisi secara profesional pada tingkat lokal, nasional, regional maupun internasional.
  2. Menghasilkan jejaring kerjasama dalam lingkup lokal, nasional, regional, maupun internasional yang saling berkolaborasi dalam mengembangkan ilmu komunikasi secara akademis dan praktis di masyarakat.
