Antropologi Membincangkan Masyarakat Perbatasan Pada hari Rabu (3/04/2017), mahasiswa Antropologi Sosial FISIP Universitas Tanjungpura peserta mata kuliah Etnografi Perbatasan mengadakan perkuliahan di luar kelas yaitu di taman Museum Kalimantan Barat. Berharap pembelajaran lebih berwarna dengan suasana yang santai dan terutama mengkaitkan dengan realitas, maka diundang praktisi profesional untuk mengisi perkuliahan di Prodi Antropologi Sosial. Hadirnya praktisi profesional diharapkan bisa menjadi jembatan antara teori dan praktik
Mata kuliah Etnografi Perbatasan yang diampu oleh Prof. Dr. H. Arkanudin, M.Si dan Diaz Restu Darmawan, M.A. mengundang jurnalis dari Kompas TV yaitu Dea Citra Rahmatika. Sudah hampir 10 tahun lamanya, Dea Citra Rahmatika menggeluti dunia jurnalistik dan banyak meliput wilayah perbatasan di Kalimantan.
Salah satu liputan Dea Citra Rahmatika yang menjadi viral akhir-akhir ini adalah liputan kondisi anak-anak di Sekolah Dasar di Desa Sungkung, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Masyarakat di wilayah tersebut mengalami kesulitan mendapatkan akses pelayanan pendidikan, kesehatan maupun kebutuhan sehari-hari. Bisa dikatakan masyarakat Sungkung dalam kondisi serba keterbatasan.
Sebagian besar penduduk Desa Sungkung bekerja sebagai petani ladang terutama petani lada. Meskipun berdekatan dengan desa Kuningan, kondisi kedua desa itu kontras berbeda. Desa Kuningan terlihat lebih maju dibandingkan Desa Sungkung. Keberadaan tokoh agama yaitu pastur di Desa Kuningan juga berperan dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat. Penduduk Desa Kuningan dikatakan juga lebih banyak yang sudah mencicipi bangku sekolah bahkan ada warga yang lulus sarjana. Keterisolasian wilayah desa Sungkung terutama sulitnya akses transportasi menjadi kendala besar dalam pengembangan desa Sungkung.
Kondisi Sungkung sangat memprihatinkan dengan sarana prasarana sekolah maupun kelengkapan belajar siswa yang sangat tidak layak. Bahkan di Sungkung terlihat anak-anak berangkat sekolah dengan telanjang kaki. Penduduk di Desa Sungkung masih minim pendidikan formal. Begitulah kondisi masyarakat di Desa Sungkung yang diceritakan oleh Dea Citra Rahmatika. Masih banyak lagi kondisi nyata di daerah perbatasan dan membuat penasaran banyak mahasiswa Antropologi Sosial. Ruang-ruang penelitian di daerah perbatasan terbuka lebar untuk akademisi, terutama dosen maupun mahasiswa Antropologi Sosial. Dea Citra Rahmatika melalui diskusi mengajak mahasiswa untuk lebih peka terhadap masyarakat terutama yang selama ini terabaikan dan mau berperan aktif untuk menjadi bagian dari solusi.
Para mahasiswa banyak belajar dari diskusi tentang kondisi dan permasalahan yang dialami masyarakat perbatasan. Pembelajaran Antropologi Sosial FISIP Universitas Tanjungpura mendorong mahasiswa untuk memiliki kemampuan melakukan field research (penelitian lapangan). Diskusi yang diadakan dengan praktisi profesional diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kepenasaran para mahasiswa untuk melakukan pencarian jawaban pada setiap pertanyaan yang muncul di dalam kepala. Tentunya dengan meningkatkan daya baca, penelitian, menulis dan diskusi. Beberapa mahasiswa mengatakan bahwa perkuliahan di luar kelas bisa memberi atmosfir baru untuk perkuliahan Antropologi Sosial.
