Ketika anak komunikasi yang akrab dengan media, fotografi, kepenulisan, wawancara dan hal yang berhubungan dengan komunikasi di suruh mengajar bahasa inggris kepada anak-anak di masyarakat marjinal, kebayang serunya?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mengajar?? Bahasa Inggris pula. Sebuah hal yang tak pernah terlintas di benak saya. Namun semua berbeda ketika saya dan ketiga teman mahasiswa komunikasi yang berbeda-beda angkatan dengan mengikuti program EFCT. Ada saya sendiri Gheby Maulia Hastari dari angkatan 2015, Ganis Dinar Maharani Sadeli dari angkatan 2013, Rezqy Septiyoza dari angkatan 2014 dan Muhammad Aditya Swandi dari angkatan 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fisip.untan.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/efctber4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3943 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/fisip.untan.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/efctber4-300x196.jpg\" alt=\"Ketika Anak Komunikasi Ngajar Bahasa Inggris\" width=\"300\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saya sendiri mengajar di daerah Siantan setiap Hari Jum\u2019at sore hari. Butuh proses untuk pergi kesana, karena rumah saya bisa dibilang jauh dari titik sasaran. Menghadapi ramainya jalanan Kota Pontianak. Belum lagi jika hujan turun dengan lebat. Saya hanya berdoa semoga saya dikuatkan dan mampu menyelesaikan project ini dalam delapan bulan kedepan.<\/p>\n<p>Sebenarnya saya tidak pernah menyangka mendapatkan kesempatan untuk turut serta dalam <em>project<\/em> ini. Diantara 40 orang yang terpilih kami berempat berasal dari Prodi Ilmu Komunikasi, satu orang dari Fakultas Hukum dan lainnya berasal dari FKIP dan STBA. Rasanya ada kebanggaan dan sebuah kehormatan bisa bergabung dengan teman-teman yang rata-rata memiliki ilmu di bidang pendidikan dan keguruan. Sedangkan saya dari komunikasi yang tidak ada sama sekali ilmu dalam hal mengajar. Namun ketika mengikutinya dan banyak belajar dari teman-teman saya banyak sekali mendapatkan ilmu, bertemu banyak teman dan meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris adalah dua diantara banyaknya faedah yang saya dapatkan.<\/p>\n<p>Ketika turun langsung ke lapangan dan berhadapan langsung dengan anak-anak, saya sadar saat itulah saya merasa seperti manusia. Manusia yang bermanfaat dan ditunggu kedatangannya, dan diharapkan. EFCT banyak sekali memberi pelajaran hidup, terlebih lagi saya sendiri merasa bersyukur bisa diberikan kesempatan mengenyam pendidikan sampai saat ini. Diluar sana, yang saya lihat selama melakukan <em>project<\/em> banyak dari adik-adik kita yang kurang beruntung dalam pendidikan tapi semangat dalam mencari ilmu. Fasilitas yang kurang memadai, dana yang minim, dan kesempatan yang tidak ada. Sungguh ironi memang, sebagai warga negara Indonesia hak kita adalah untuk mendapatkan pendidikan yang layak. Namun rasanya hal itu belum dapat diterima oleh mereka-mereka yang kurang beruntung.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan mengikuti program ini saya sadar sebagai orang yang mengenyam pendidikan ini adalah tugas saya. Tugas saya yang menerima ilmu dan wajib untuk menularkan kepada mereka-mereka yang tidak memiliki kesempatan yang sama. Menyadarkan saya bahwa pendidikan itu memang sangat penting untuk perubahan. Menyadarkan saya bahwa hidup saya jauh lebih beruntung. Mengajarkan saya bahwa kemewahan bisa didapatkan ditengah senyum keterbatasan adik didik saya.
